Who the heck are The Cheap Dates?
The Cheap Dates are two seasoned professional musicians consisting of live guitar, drums and vocals. The Cheap Dates perform in concert with professionally produced backing tracks that are performed and recorded exclusivley by The Cheap Dates themselves.
Guitarist/vocalist Simon Panter and drummer/vocalist Eric Aardema formed the band in 2006. The Cheap Dates may look framiliar to some, as Simon and Eric are also members in one of the most popular bands in West Michigan, Montage. When Montage is not working, The Cheap Dates get to work, and are considered by many listeners as a "Mini Montage".
The Cheap Dates are certainly not your typical "singer/guitar player duo" singing campy folk songs. The Cheap Dates have a huge full band sound. The Cheap Dates will soothe your soul with your favorite slow dance songs and then turn around and rock your freakin nuggies off with all of the greatest rock, pop, 80's hits, and reggae music.
